Wright assumes new position with VDOT

LYNCHBURG — VDOT Lynchburg District Residency Administrator Kevin Wright has been named implementation coordinator at the agency’s research division in Charlottesville.

Wright, who worked in Buckingham, Cumberland and Prince Edward counties, was named acting residency administrator in 2009 and took the permanent position in 2010, according to VDOT.

Buckingham native Scot Shipee has been named acting residency engineer.

“In his new position, [Wright] will be the liaison between the recommendations and results of VDOT’s research projects and putting them into practice in the field — which is where his experience as a residency administrator will be valuable,” a VDOT spokeswoman said.

“He has worked in several positions in two VDOT districts — Lynchburg and Salem — and is someone who has the trust of field staff from that experience.”
