So, John Jamieson believes everything he reads on the Internet, does he?

In his column (“Voter ID is necessary for sound elections,” Oct. 16), he quotes word-for-word from www.snopes.com the first answer that appears when one googles “voter fraud in Ohio presidential election 2012.” However, he neglects to read the heading under “2012 voter fraud” which notes that the following instances are completely bogus.

Should one scroll down a bit to Wikipedia.com, there is a chart of voter results by county in Ohio. Not a single county had a 100 percent Obama vote and a zero percent Romney vote.

If voter fraud were so very obvious as 247,713 voted in a county of 175,574 registered voters in Florida, do you not think there would have been an instant cry of foul by everybody involved?

It has been proven over and over again that there is very little voter fraud in this country. Fraud of the magnitude alleged by Jamieson would surely have drawn the attention of the board of elections of the counties involved, as well as the U.S. Justice Department.

Which goes to show, as my Grandpa used to say, “consider the source.”

If we believe everything we read on the Internet, our world would surely be at an end.

Jamieson, spare us your hysterics based on false data.
