On Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2-7 p.m., the Rotary Club of Farmville and Virginia Eagle Distributing will host the Second Annual Farmville Beer Fest at the Five County Fair grounds.

The Beer Fest will feature nine different local (VA/NC) craft beers, one hard cider and two domestic/import beers for those less adventurous. The event will feature live music from Phloyd Eugene Turbo and Point Judith.  Food will be available for purchase from Charley’s Waterfront Café.  This is a family friendly event, with a bouncy house and face painting available for the kids.

The cost is $20 (with valid photo ID) and includes 5 to 4-ounce beer samples and a commemorative mug. Additional samples can be purchased for $2 (or fill the mug for $5). The cost for those under 21 or designated drivers is $10.  Children under 10 are free.

Proceeds from the Beer Fest will help the Rotary Club of Farmville fund service projects. The Club also uses the money to support local charities including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Piedmont Senior Resources, Virginia Legal Aid, FACES, Meals on Wheels, and the Heart of Virginia Free Clinic.  The Club also sponsors PEFYA sports teams and Prince Edward delegates to Boy’s and Girl’s State.

Tickets are available in advance at W.A. Watson and Sons, either Farmville branch of Benchmark Bank, or from any Rotarian.  Tickets will also be available at the gate. For further information visit Farmville Rotary and Farmville Beer Fest on Facebook.
