Roscoe Carl Thompson, 85, of Buckingham, died Friday, August 21, 2015.

Mr. Thompson was a construction superintendent with Andrews, Large and Whidden for many years, and ultimately retired from Kenbridge Construction. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and puttering around his workshop.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dale Thompson (Teresa), Steven Thompson (Becky), and Gary Thompson (Kim), all of Cumberland; brothers, David Daniel Thompson of Bumpass and Clayton Gray Thompson of Cumberland; and a sister, Minnie Rose Anderson of Cumberland; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Josephine Absher Thompson, brothers, Lewis Herbert Thompson, George Paul Thompson, and Earl Arthur Thompson, and sisters, Della Ruth Mendez, Betty Bertha Hubbard, Dora Ethel Mendez, and Lucy May Thompson.

Family visitation will be at his residence from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 26, at 10 a.m. at Brown’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 1711 Gravel Hill Road, Dillwyn.
