Editor, The Herald:

The article in the paper on Wednesday, September 8 about Hamilton High School celebrating its one hundredth anniversary was so interesting. It is amazing what people can do if they stick together. These people have saved their school, and I know the former students and graduates of Hamilton are proud of it and will enjoy going there and touring. Just think what memories they will have. I cannot go back to my school. I graduated from Cumberland High School-all of my children did. Our school was built in 1936, and was a danger to students when it was just in its seventies. Our school could not be fixed. I would love to be able to return to my school and revive memories. Thank goodness for yearbooks. Is there something wrong with this picture or is there something wrong with me? Do you suppose the “people” of Cumberland would like to get rid of every thing in the county that is over 70? I wonder. Congratulations to the people of Cartersville! What a difference people who stick together can make!
