July 16 — “Time and words can never be recalled.”

Mrs. Laurie A. Justus, of Damascus spent last Sunday evening through Tuesday with her mother Hilda M. Allen, of Prospect.

Last Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lee hosted a dinner party at their home.  Invited guests were Mrs. Pat Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Wade.

On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith went to Chesterfield for an appointment, did some shopping and had dinner before returning home.

Tuesday morning Mrs. Rita Utzinger stopped by to visit Mrs. Pat Smith.

Monday found Betty and Don Meadows, Margaret and Richard Stockton, Sr., and Shirley and George Moore Jr. having breakfast at Merk’s Place.

Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mrs. Frances Anderson and Mrs. Jeannette Johnstone attended the Curdsville Community meeting and dinner on July 6 at the Curdsville Community Center. Thanks to Ron Dowdy for furnishing the fried chicken. Steve Stewart, new owner and publisher of The Farmville Herald, was introduced to the group and was the guest speaker.

Sunday following church services Mrs. Flora Bolt had lunch with Mrs. Judy Bolt and son Chris. Flora later visited the shut-ins at Brookview, Lucille, Dot and Page. She later visited with a schoolmate Mrs. BeBe Thompson. All are doing well. Later on Flora visited with Mrs. Frances Southall in her home as well as Charles Southall Jr. They are both having health issues and have not been able to get to church where they are missed very much.

Ernestine B. Borum also joined classmates of the class of 1956 Farmville High School for lunch on July 1 for lunch at the Golden Palace.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Fred Floyd, Linda Campbell, Elsie Wilson, Elfrieda Kerns, Julian Covington, Dorothy Womack, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church is 175 years old and the members are planning a large celebration on October 11. Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites you to worship with them each Sunday. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be with them on Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
