AUGUST 19 – Leslie Davis Phaup Sr., 89, of Farmville, passed away Tuesday evening, August 17, 2010 in Farmville. He was born July 18, 1921 in Buckingham County, a son of the late John James and Marietta LeSueur Phaup. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army. Mr. Phaup worked as a farmer. He also was a Deacon and a leader at Concord Baptist Church where he was one of the oldest members of the church. He loved his community and his many friends. He was the widower of Mable Wilkerson Phaup.

He is survived by his son, L.D. Phaup Jr. and wife, Nancy of Farmville; grandchildren, L. Davis Phaup, III and wife, Christine of Montpelier and Amanda S. Phaup of Mechanicsville; great grandchildren, Hayley and Evan Phaup and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers, Moses, Vaden, Hazel, Crosby, Earl and Andrew Phaup and sister, Virginia Phaup Stinson Cooper.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 21, at 11 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends Friday, August 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home.
