PAMPLIN, Aug. 17 – Donald Franklin Armstrong, 78, of Pamplin passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Lynchburg. He was born June 2, 1932 in Fountain Inn, SC to the late Charles Dial and Esther Verdin Armstrong. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Naomi (Nicki) Armstrong; son, Frank J. Loverde and wife, Donna; two grandchildren, Frank Nicklas Loverde and Jason Ronald Brown; brothers, J. Verdin Armstrong of Fountain Inn, SC., Rodney Armstrong of Easley, SC and Wendall Armstrong of Fountain Inn, SC; sisters, Eleanor Wood of Dunwoody, GA, Rachael Jacobs of Clinton, SC and Esther Presher of Greer, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Monday, August 16, at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home.
