NEW CANTON, Oct. 20 – Hazel Dunkum Snoddy, 74, of New Canton, died Sunday, October 18, 2009. She was born February 3, 1935 in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late Conrad Eugene Dunkum and Carrie Jones Dunkum.

She is survived by her husband, John Christian Snoddy; son, Neal D. Snoddy of Bridge-water; sister, Nancy May Shores of Richmond; brother, Luther Roger Dunkum of Wingina; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Arvon Baptist Church, Arvonia, with interment in Buckingham Baptist Cemetery, Gold Hill.

The family will receive friends Tuesday (today) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Arvon Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Arvon Baptist Church, Arvonia Rescue Squad, or Arvonia Fire Dept.
