NEW CANTON, Oct. 27 – Susie Yvonne Miller Marion Cline “Grammies”, 73, of New Canton, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born October 8, 1936, in Buckingham County, to the late Carl L. and Virginia Newton Miller. She was the widow of Johnny L. Marion Sr. and Alvin A Cline Sr.

She is survived by her four children, John L. Marion Jr. and wife, Linda, of New Canton, Randy L. Marion and wife Colleen, of Chesterfield, Diana M. Winslett and husband Keith, and Beckey M. Martin and husband Buster, all of New Canton; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Snoddy and husband, Charles, Katheryn Smith and husband, Bruce, Matthew Marion and wife, Leigh, Kristen Marion and husband, BJ, Sharon Marion-Hart and husband, Cory, Daniel Marion, Paul Winslett, Michael Winslett, Melissa Winslett, Sara Martin-Bean and husband, Chris, and Staci Atkinson and husband, Jason; seven great-grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Snoddy, Seth (twins) Madison and Mason Gormus, Natalie Hart and Marissa Atkinson; five sisters, Martha Snoddy and Margaret Gunter, both of Arvonia, Peggy Marion of New Canton, Amanda Morris and Ethel Landes, both of Fork Un-ion; two brothers, James L. Miller of Denver, CO and Avis Miller of Fayetteville, NC; an uncle, Howell Newton of Arvonia and her devoted companion, Dennis Hines. Mrs. Cline was preceded in death by a brother, Vern Miller and sisters, Bertha Miller, Doris Mayo and Shirley Chancellor.

Her heart and home were always open to anyone who came through her door, she was beloved of all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother and a second mom to many. She was an angel among us, always ready to listen and provide guidance in her own wisdom. She will greatly be missed and leaves behind her loving family she created.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Welcome Weslyan Church, Rt. 15, Arvonia with interment at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening (tonight) from 7-9 p.m. at Colbert Funeral Home.
