MEHERRIN, Nov. 13 – Louetta Jestin Stanley Rakes, 83, of Meherrin, born April 6, 1925, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Early and a son, David.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Bolan and husband, Jack; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Allen and husband, Willie; six grandchildren, Kim Wingo of Jetersville and Jack Bolan Jr., Jestin Hurtt, Sarah Duffey, Shannon Rakes, and Scott Rakes, all of Keysville; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lowenna Pendleton of Martinsville, Rhondalene Forney of Fredericksburg, Audrey Stanley of Lexington, OR, Vivia McFarland and husband, Bill of Windsor, SC, and Drema Byrd and husband, John of Pawley's Island, SC; one brother, Don Stanley of Meadows of Dan; and a sister-in-law, Pauletta Stanley of Roanoke.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Browning Funeral Home with interment in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Charlotte County or Meherrin Volunteer Rescue Squad.
