Urcil S. Henley, 81

HENLEY, Urcil Shepard, 81, departed this life at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Southside Community Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. George G. Henley; her son, Dennis W. Jacobs; her granddaughter, Laiken B. Jacobs; her brother, Otis A. Shepard and his wife, Barbara, and family, including daughters, Caryl Harris and husband, Jim, and family, the Rev. Sylvia Meadows and husband, Lynn, and family, and Jackie Morehouse and family. Also surviving are her cousins, Daphne Mason and husband, Bob, and family, Marilyn Newell and husband, Cameron, and son, Carolyn Phillips and husband, Bill, and family, Betty Jack Fuller and husband, Gerry, and family, Bosseux and Betty Shepard, Van and Agnes Shepard, Marie and Bobby Lynell and Frank D. Shepard.

Survivors also include nieces, Jo Leslie Andrews, Linda Shepard Barton and husband, Meak, and family, Cora A. Cluver and husband, Ross, and family; nephew, Mike Andrews and wife, Linda, and family; one stepson, Bill Henley, of Beaver-dam; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Henley was a lifelong member of Farmville United Methodist Church, and a long-time employee of Pairet's Sporting Goods Store as bookkeeper.

A memorial service will be held at Farmville United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Sylvia Meadows, with a reception to follow in the Social Hall of the church.
