POWHATAN, Jan. 22 – Louise Brisentine Doss, 90, of Powhatan, died on Monday, January 19, 2009. She was born on August 30, 1918, the daughter of the late Ira and Ida Davis Brisentine in Botetout County. She was formerly of Prospect and owner of Doss Grocery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin P. Doss Sr.; son, Barry Lee Doss; daughter, Donna Lou Townsend; sister, Virginia Smith; and a brother, Albert Brisentine.

Mrs. Doss is survived by three sons, William M. Doss and wife, Gail of Farmville, Calvin P. Doss Jr. and wife, Marie of Victoria, and Albert S. Doss and wife, Linda of Powhatan; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted on Thursday at 3 p.m. from Prospect United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to the church or the donor's choice.

Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
