MEHERRIN, July 19 – Gwendolyn Duane Luna, 70, of Meherrin, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at her home.

Mrs. Luna was born in West Virginia to the late Basil and Elsie Chambers Shumate. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Surviving are her children, Kimberly Hostetter and husband, Jerry Jr. of Meherrin, Lawrence Grey Luna and wife, Deborah of Dillwyn, Aaron Leslie Luna of Green Bay and Danette Rae Luna of Georgia; grandchildren, Adam Blair Luna, Kaitlyn Luna, Emily Luna, Avery Luna, Shay Hostetter, Brooke Hostetter and Taylor Luna; great-granddaughter, Karlie Rae Bailey; and brother, James Michael Ferguson of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late George Raymond Luna.
