Thomas P. Callahan, 61 US Army Veteran Dies Wed., July 22

RED HOUSE, July 28 – Thomas Patrick Callahan, 61, of Red House, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born in Wells Bridge, NY, December 4, 1947, he was a son of the late John and Ruth Bissonnette Callahan.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Janice Callahan; two daughters, Kara and Heather Callahan; a brother, Dan Callahan; and a sister, Judy Ryan.

Tom was a great friend to all, always lending a helping hand. He enjoyed golfing and working on the horse farm with his wife, Janice. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War.

Originally from Connecticut, Tom worked 17 years at the Saving Institute Bank and Trust in Willimantic. After moving to Virginia he worked for Stellar One in Farmville and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Appomattox.

He made friendships everywhere he went and will truly be missed. Tom will forever be remembered as a great husband, father, brother, and friend.

A memorial services was held at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Appomattox.
