CREWE, July 28 – Frances Martin Atkins, 82, of Crewe, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009.

Surviving are a daughter, Dale Stansell and husband, Johnny, of Abilene, TX; three sons, Thomas L. Atkins of Crewe, Ricky W. Atkins and wife, Jacquelyn of Crewe, and Robin C. Atkins and wife, Cynthia of Farmville; brothers, Melvin Martin of Newport News, Edmund Martin of Woodstock, Franklin Martin of Evington, and Jimmy Martin of Crewe; sister, Evelyn Baldwin of Crewe; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Atkins, and 10 siblings.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Crewe Baptist Church.
