CUMBERLAND, Sept. 20 – Deaconess Carrie Bell Carter, 98, of Cumberland, departed this life on Sunday, September 16, 2012 in Highland Springs.

She is survived by a son, Richard Spencer Carter Jr. (Ella); two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Annie Bell Anderson (Lewis); seven step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home where public viewing will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. at Petersville Baptist Church, New Canton with the Rev. Ollie Bolden, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
