MEHERRIN, Sept. 11 – Jamir T. Gee, of Meherrin, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012. He was born July 7, 2008 and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Meherrin.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving parents, Jannifer and John Gee of Meherrin; two loving brothers, Barrius Pettius (BJ) and John Gee (TJ) of Meherrin; maternal grandparents, Hattie Coleman (Bennie, preceded him in death); paternal grandparents, the Rev. Earl Townsend Jr. (Angie) and Leo (Margie, preceded him in death); great-grandmothers, Dorothy Townsend and Lizzie Watson; aunts, Connie, Anita, Chanda, Stacy, Selma, Chernice, Whitney, Zenobie, Jessica and Shelia; uncles, Kingston, Douglas, Canaan, Cornelious, Terry, AJ, Edward, Albert, Daymon and Eddie; and a host of great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jamir received lots of love and affection from Carla Coleman (who is now deceased) but was always there for him, aunts, Selma Coleman and Jean Barnes, Rita Duffey, Corlina Jeter, De'Andra Walton, his best buddy, Jalen Chalkley, Papa (Frank Stokes) and his puppy whom he affectionately called “Gee” and Godfather, Robert Streat.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 8 at New Bethel Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Haney Thomas Jr. officiated.
