Spates, Town Employees Are Terrific

Editor, The Herald:

Finding an eight-foot-deep and wide sinkhole in your front yard three times can be depressing. Learning that the whole side of the yard may have to be excavated to the point of losing three prized and beloved trees could be the icing on the cake. After much investigation, and most of all with the concern and total help from Gerry Spates, our town Manager, and his staff, I felt like I had won the lottery. Two neighborhood guardian angels revealed the possible problem to be a collapsed drainpipe, which ran across the yard.

With Mr. Spates' expertise and probing with his staff and putting in many days of tedious hard work, the problem was taken care of. I also gained a new appreciation for the friendly and patient workers that labor each day for us. All of this reminded me of how fortunate it is to be living in the Town of Farmville for so many reasons. Thank you Town of Farmville!
