DILLWYN, August 21 – Otto Kahn Washington Sr., 79, of Dillwyn, joined the innumerable caravan when his life came to a peaceful end at the McGuire Military Hospital, Richmond, on Tuesday, August 16, 2012. He spent his life dedicated to Buckingham County, his church and students at Prince Edward County Middle School.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ophelia; son, Otto K. Washington Jr. of Alexandria; daughter, Oralia Washington of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Dr. Ulyssess S. Washington of Dover, DE and Russel C. Washington, Esq, (Eva) of Washington, DC; two sisters, Gladys Sands of Stone Mountain, GA and Dorothy Williams of the home; nine nieces; five nephews, ten great-nephews; ten great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; two sisters-in-law; and a host of devoted cousins, other family members and friends.

A funeral ceremony will be on Wednesday, August 22 at noon at Holy Trinity Baptist Church, Dillwyn, with interment in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Virginia in his memory.
