LYNCHBURG, Aug. 9 – Barbara Gail Floyd Martin, 53, of Lynchburg, died at her residence.

Born on December 5, 1958, in Prospect, she was a daughter of the late Howard Lee and Doris Daniels Floyd.

Ms. Martin was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and a retired U.S. Postal worker.

She is survived by her children, Lauralee M. Mills and husband, Josh and John-Richard Martin of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Tyler Wesley Martin, Georgia Arley Mills, and Lucy Brice Mills; three brothers, Howard Anthony Floyd and wife, Kathy of Farmville, Donald Lee Floyd of New Jersey, and Jon Robert Floyd of Charlottesville; her former husband and father of their children, Richard Lee Martin, and her former mother-in-law, Hazel Lee Martin, both of Appomattox.

She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, August 10, at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Larry Mann and Rev. Randolph Martin.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday (tonight), at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Lauralee and Josh Mills.
