POWHATAN, July 15 – Zell Adams Perkins, 72, of Powhatan, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at home in Powhatan after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on August 12, 1935 in Keysville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sanford and Cleo Adams.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband, James H. Perkins of Powhatan; son and daughter-in-law, James and Kelly Perkins of Cumberland; grandchildren, Joshua Perkins of Cumberland, Jarad Perkins and wife, Ilya of Mobile, AL, and Sarah Beth Perkins of Cumberland; and a sister, Faye Nelson of Charlotte Court House.

A funeral service was held Monday, July 14, at the Shorter Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.
