Prince Edward hosted Brunswick Tuesday evening. Freshman Hunter Tyler made his varsity debut and played extremely well in a 4-3 loss to the Bulldogs in nine innings.

Tyler pitched five-and-1/3 innings allowing two earned runs and striking out seven. He also went 4-4 at the plate.

Chay Fitts relieved Tyler in the sixth inning and went three-and 2/3-innings allowing one earned run and striking out seven.

Over their past two home games, The Eagles have played 19 innings and have only allowed seven runs. However, they have only been able to push across four runs in that same span.

Prince Edward defeated Bluestone 3-1 in a non-district soccer game. Katrina Lowe scored the Eagles' first goal. The Barons scored a game tying goal near the end of the half. Lowe was able to score two more times for another hat trick.

Senior Sarah Campbell and Amie Dews assisted on the PE goals. The defense, led by seniors Jenny Thompson and Lauren Keup, played an outstanding game filling in for Jessie Bass who had a season ending injury (torn ACL) in the last Bluestone game.

Boys Varsity Soccer

The varsity boys soccer team traveled to Southampton Wednesday afternoon for the final game of the regular season. Despite the rain, the Eagles started well and cruised to a 6-1 victory to nail down the No. 2 spot in the league.

Peter Carter found an open Liam Burke on the left side of the penalty box. Burke calmly fired a low goal-scoring shot in the 12th minute.

The Indians tied up the game at one four minutes later, raising the hopes of their supporters. But from here, the Eagles kicked it into gear. James Farley would put his name on the board in the 24th minute when he scored on a shot towards the far post from the inside of the box.

Burke scored his second just a few minutes later. The Eagles continued their dominance in the second half. Bryce Deitrich scored a pair of goals, and Burke finished his hat trick to put the game beyond doubt.

JV Soccer

Wednesday evening, the JV soccer team traveled to Southampton for the final game of the season. Despite the torrential rain, the Eagles dominated the Indians to score a 3-0 victory.

In the first half, the Eagles put the ball in the back of the net twice on goals by Niko Reinson and Colton Sheehan.

Then, after intermission, they secured the victory with a final goal on a free kick by Connor Burke, who set up the score by passing the ball by the left side of the wall to Sheehan, who was wide open.

Sheehan's shot hit the back of the net on the far corner for the final goal of the match.

Girls Varsity Softball

The Eagles hosted district rival Brunswick in a doubleheader. The Brunswick Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead before Junior pitcher Casey Meadows took control of the game.

The offense was led by Ashlee Todt, Sarena Eames, and Casey Meadows. They all had a triple and three RBI apiece. Freshman Emily Roach pitched the second game for the Eagles (10-7, 6-4 SSD) in a 13-3 victory.
