PROSPECT, July 22 – Mrs. Faye H. Carter, 71 of Prospect, formerly of Mechanicsville passed away Friday, July 18, 2008 at her residence. She was born June 23, 1937 in Harleyville, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Legare and Leona Kizer Harley. She was the widow of George W. Carter. Faye was a devoted and dedicated mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, George W. Carter Jr. and wife, Lorraine of Prospect and their children, Georgia and Stephen, and William R. Carter (Randy) and wife, Tina of Mechanicsville and their children, Lindsey and Jake; brothers, Joseph L. Harley and wife, Geneva of Atlanta, GA and Ray C. Harley of Harleyville, SC; sisters, Linda H. Earls of Lugoff, SC and Mary Anne Griffin of Ladson, SC.

A funeral service was held Monday, July 21, at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church in Prospect with interment in Westview Cemetery in Farmville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Glenn Memorial Baptist Church or to the Hospice of Central Virginia in Farmville.
