Amanda Walton Of Rice Dies Thursday

RICE, March 23 – Amanda Walton, of Rice, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Brookview Lodge, Farmvllle.

She was born in Prince Edward County on August 17, 1915, a daughter of the late Wathall and Inez Thompson.

She is survived by seven daughters, Mamie Dove, Alice Anderson, Mary Brooks, Marie Jackson, Inez Tucker, Martha Dye and Vera Walton; four sons, Waverly, Clarence, Melvin and Hodges Walton; one son-in-law, John Dye; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Walton; five sisters, lantha Whitaker, Louise Burn-side, Constance Brown, Leanna Norton and Phyllis Calhoun; four brothers, Moses, Samuel, Matthew and Fred Thompson; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; 26 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 55 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at High Bridge Baptist Church, Rice, with interment In the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to High Bridge Baptist Church.
