Prince Edward County High runner sets course record

One Prince Edward County High runner set a new course record last week, competing at the James River District Championships. Sylvia Hemmer won the 5K race, held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, with a time of 20:43. 

This marks the third straight time Hemmer has won the district championship.

worker and it shows in her performance. I will miss her next year as she moves on to run at the college level.”

In addition to her cross country achievements, Sylvia Hemmer holds the school track record for Prince Edward County High School in the 1600m, 3200m, and 800m runs.
