The Church and Community Events calendar is published each Friday. Items must be submitted by 10 a.m. Monday for that Friday’s calendar. Events should be emailed to CommunityCalendar@ FarmvilleHerald.com.

LIVE STREAMING SERVICES at First Liberty Baptist Church will be held the first and third Sunday at 10 a.m. and Bible study via teleconference on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Dial in at 617-793- 8841, no code. All other programs and services will remain suspended in compliance with the governor’s orders.

IN-PERSON SERVICES, 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon, at Biblical Baptist Church until further notice.

PARK AND PRAISE SERVICE, 10-11 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church on Sundays until further notice.

PARKING LOT SERVICES – Sharon Baptist in Cumberland parking lot worship services will be held at 9 a.m. on the first through fourth Sundays until further notice. Homecoming and revival services scheduled for August 2020 have been canceled.

HOMECOMING/ REVIVAL CANCELED – Bethel Grove Baptist Church has canceled homecoming/revival services this year.

CHURCH ACTIVITIES CANCELED – New Grove Baptist Church calendar activities, including annual revival and homecoming are canceled until further notice. Virtual worship service will continue to be conducted on second and fourth Sundays, and Sunday school/Bible study on first and third Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

OUTDOOR SERVICE – Until further notice, Mt. Moriah Upper Room Baptist Church at 1913 Tuggle Road, Farmville will have outdoor church service at 10 a.m. on first through fourth Sundays.

ZION BAPTIST SERVICES – Zion Baptist Church of Dillwyn will have phone conference services each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. To join in call 1-559-671- 2916. Homecoming and revival have been canceled.

Also, beginning Thursday, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. prayer service will be held using the same number.

JULY 10

FREE MOVIE – 7 p.m. The Music Man will be shown at the Pamplin Depot Main Street in the Freight Room. Bring snack and refreshments along with a mask and a lawn chair for this socially distanced event.

JULY 12

LANDFILL AWARENESS MEETING – The Cumberland County Landfill Awareness group will have a Community Town Hall Meeting July 12, at 3 p.m. at the Cumberland County Community Center located at 11 Davenport Road in Cumberland. All are welcome to attend to find out updated information concerning the proposed mega landfill in Cumberland County. The meeting may be attended in-person or virtually by calling 1-571-317-3112. DRIVE-IN WORSHIP – Cedar Baptist Church at 3932 Bell Road, Dillwyn will have a drive-In worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 12. There will also be an 11:15 service inside the church sanctuary. Attendees will be asked to wear a mask for the inside service.

PARK AND PRAISE – The Monroe Baptist Church in Rice will be have its regular second and fourth Sunday Park and Praise worship services at 9 a.m. until further notice. Revival services have been canceled for the week of July 13-17. Service will be held at 9 a.m. July 12.

JULY 13

BUCKINGHAM BOARD OF SUPERVISORS – The Buckingham Board of Supervisors will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. To receive instructions on how to gain access to the meeting, visit the county website at http://www. buckinghamcountyva. org/ or call 434-969-4242.

PUBLIC HEARINGS – The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. to hold public hearings on eight separate agenda items. CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS – The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, July 14 at 6 p.m. To receive instructions on how to access the meeting, call 804-492- 3800.

GOP MEETING – The regular meeting of the Buckingham County Republicans will be held at 7 p.m. at the Buckingham Agricultural Center (54 Administrative Lane, Buckingham). GOP Congressional nominee Bob Good will be speaking.

JULY 15

GO MEETING – The Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Council will meet Wednesday, July 15, at 1 p.m. Meeting members will have the option to join the meeting in person or via Zoom.
