Melton wins writing contest
Fuqua School rising junior, Hunter Melton, placed first in the Student Impact Writing Contest. Hunter placed first out of more than 100 applicants and won a $250 grand prize with the chance for his story to be illustrated and shared.
Hunter wrote a story titled, “Dreamers” for third- and fourth-grade students.
Hunter is a member of the Battle of the Brains team, captain of the cross country team, member of the lacrosse team, and a silver service award winner for community service. Hunter tutors other students in his spare time and loves both the sciences and history. Hunter is the son of John and Leigh Melton of Hampden-Sydney.
