Full Circle School’s Student Market donated 20 masks to Farmville Cares May 29.
The group began making masks for local businesses and individuals shortly after schools closed this spring as a community service project. Their commitment is to donate one free mask for every four sold. As the project grows and needs are identified, the students and staff plan to “love bomb” other local businesses and organizations with free mask donations.
“Teaching students to be engaged global citizens requires providing them with real world opportunities to impact the wellbeing of their community. It is powerful for them to experience the success and challenges of transforming an idea into a tangible product that meets a need.” School Director Angela Whittaker said.
The Full Circle Student Market is a component of the school’s curriculum and provides workforce readiness skills, while building social awareness by completing community outreach projects.
