Demolition work progresses near the midsection of Hampden-Sydney College’s (H-SC) Bagby Hall Wednesday morning, May 20. By the afternoon, the work was largely complete. The removal of Bagby Hall is part of the process leading up to the construction of the Pauley Science Center that is expected to strengthen H-SC’s science program and transform the learning and research opportunities available to Hampden-Sydney students. The center is set to open for instruction in the spring semester of 2021. H-SC Director of Communications & Marketing Gordon Neal noted Bagby Hall was built in 1922 and was the college’s original science facility.
