The first Southside Remembrance Vigil is set for Friday, May 15, at noon. This first remembrance will begin a series of reflective moments held on Fridays at noon for the community to express sadness, grief and support for the families in the Southside area who have lost loved ones during this pandemic for any reason.
Join Southside Area faith leaders live on Facebook, as they lead us in a memorial for our neighbors, friends, and family members who have passed due to any cause during the past weeks. All are welcome to join for the live vigil and the videos will be stored on the Facebook page for viewing at any time.
Each family can memorialize their loved one by sending up to four pictures of those who have passed for any reason since March 15. In future vigils, the names and pictures of these local citizens will be shared on the live broadcast.
Forms and instructions for registering for the inclusion of the name and pictures of loved ones can be found with the local funeral home director or by requesting them on the Southside Remembrance Vigils page on Facebook.
To be included in a vigil, the memorial entry consent form and pictures must be received by the Wednesday proceeding the Friday service and sent by email to: docmjs@gmail.com.
