Dear Editor:

Since heat is what shortens the life of viruses and germs, the states in the deep south may be able to get away with opening up early.

I am surprised no doctors or experts have called for stores, etc., to raise the inside temperature to as high as 80 degrees, or even 85. After all, if you are serious about combating the virus, why would you want to lower the temperature – just so people can feel comfortable?

Which is more important, being comfortable or reducing the risk of catching the virus? Air conditioning in stores is not what we need right now, it seems to me.
