Thelma D. Armes, 95 of Farmville, formerly of Burkeville, passed away, Thursday, April 16, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. M. “Buck” Armes, her daughter, Peggie Nash, and her son, Russell Armes. She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Armes (Earlene), and Larry Armes (Marsha); two brothers, George Drinkard (Betty), and Jerry Drinkard (Jo); two sisters, Margaret Tilley, and Nancy Dixon (Thomas); 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Thelma was the oldest living member of Burkeville Presbyterian Church, where she served in the choir, Session, and the Presbyterian Women. Mrs. Armes was a retired employee of Levi Strauss, Inc., with over 30 years of service. Services will be private.
