Tigers junior Nick Grohowski and freshman Ryan Boyce each had two RBIs to lead Hampden-Sydney College’s baseball team to a 9-0 non-conference road win at Piedmont College Wednesday afternoon, March 11, in Demorest, Georgia. The visiting Tigers (12-4, 2-0 ODAC) used six different pitchers who combined for the seven-hit shutout victory. Freshman Justin Woodall gained the mound win in middle relief against the host Lions (10-7). Hampden-Sydney scored nine runs on 13 hits. The hit leader for the Tigers was senior Andrew Kasiski, pictured at left, who went 4 for 5, with an RBI and two runs scored. Senior Chase Counts went 3 for 5 with one run scored.
