The Nora Lancaster Garden Club (NLGC) met Feb. 18 at the Barbara Rose Johns Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library.

Agriculture and Natural Resources extension agent Kathy Overby was the guest speaker. Her topic was “Happy Hydrangeas.” She explained how to identify different varieties of hydrangeas and discussed the care, pruning and fertilization of each variety. Overby concluded her program with a question and answer session.

The exhibit was “Real and Dried Beauties,” an arrangement using a combination of plant and dried materials. Ribbon winners were (blue) Helen Smith and (red) Becky Kelly and Dr. Barbara Smith.

Winning ribbons in horticulture were (blue) Becky Kelly, Linda Rofe, Dr. Barbara Smith and Helen Smith. Hostesses were Catherine Clark, Vicky Morris and Linda Rofe.
