Currently, Dwyer chairs the town property/building committee as well as serving on the infrastructure and parks and recreation committees.

In addition, Dwyer works for Piedmont Habitat for Humanity serving as director of family services. He is also a 36-year member and past-president of the Rotary Club of Farmville as well as serving on the board of directors of the Southside Virginia YMCA.

“I have been honored to serve on council for the past five years. Residents have entrusted me with a great deal of responsibility and I do not take it lightly,” Dwyer said, “ I pride myself in being responsive to the citizens when called upon. I strongly believe in representative government and I will be held accountable for my time on council on May 5.”

Dwyer says he may be old fashion, but he soon plans to be hitting the streets and knocking on doors.

“This way residents have the opportunity to speak their minds,” Dwyer said. “And, I look forward to meeting with as many of my constituents as possible.”
