Wind Symphony to perform free concert
The Longwood University Wind Symphony will present a free concert Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Jarman Auditorium on the LU campus.
Admission is free. The public is welcome. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
The Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Kevin M. Callihan, will perform works by John Mackey, Morten Lauridsen, Franz von Suppe, Josef Rheinberger, Richard Rodgers, and Gordon Ring.
The program will feature the world premiere of “Concertino Trio” a composition for alto saxophone, clarinet, marimba, and wind ensemble by Dr. Gordon Ring. This work will feature faculty soloists Dr. Charles Kinzer, Dr. Roland Karnatz, and Professor Chris Thomas.
