Important road closure information
Motorists will have to utilize a different route beginning Monday, Feb. 10, due to a temporary road closure on a section of East James Anderson Highway.
According to a release from Colonial Pipeline, the company will be completing a project in the area that includes excavation of pipeline under the highway. Workers will perform any required maintenance for the pipeline before restoring the road and property affected.
Colonial Pipeline, in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will temporarily close a portion of East James Anderson Highway between Rosney Street and Scotts Bottom Road to perform the maintenance work.
The work is expected to begin Monday, Feb. 10, at 7 a.m. through Friday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m. However, if inclement weather delays or inhibits work during these dates, additional work dates may include Saturday, Feb. 15, through Sunday, Feb. 16.
The release says that during the road closure primary traffic will be diverted around the work location utilizing North James Madison Highway, Bell Road, Main Street and parts of Scotts Bottom Road. Local traffic will still utilize East James Anderson Highway for access except between Rosney Street and Scotts Bottom Road.
