A single-vehicle crash occurred late Monday night, Jan. 6, resulting in one injury, a Meherrin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Inc. (MVFR) official cited. Meherrin Fire and Rescue received the call at 11:31 p.m., and those responding arrived to find a car that had crashed into a tree at 3162 Patrick Henry Highway. There was one injury, and MVFR transported the individual to Central Southside Community Hospital. Also responding to the scene were two members of the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office and one state trooper.
