Willis Bernard Foster

Willis Bernard Foster, 78 of Farmville, VA went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2019. He was born in Tennessee on August 2, 1941 to the late Bill and Mary Lou Foster. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Eloise Ray Foster.
Willis was a devoted father and is survived by his children, Stephen Foster of Prospect, VA, Keith Foster (Margie) Prospect, VA, and Jessica Foster Bryant (Toby) of Glen Allen, VA. He was the beloved Papaw to six grandchildren including Samantha Johnson (Rudy), Amanda Winfree (James), Travis Brooks, Lee Foster, Finn Bryant, Willa Bryant and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ray Foster (Pat) of Prospect, VA, and sister Joyce Sweet (Frank) of Dillwyn, VA.
Wills was a devoted Christian and worked tirelessly for the Lord as a deacon at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church, serving in the Appomattox Baptist Association and the Baptist General Association of Virginia. He owned Foster’s Carpetland and was one of the finest floor craftsmen in the area for over fifty years. Willis was a US Army veteran and was also a charter member of the Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17, at 11 a.m. at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church. Family received friends on Monday, December 16, at Puckett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Bland Ministry Center, www.blandministrycenter.org
