FFA competes in Southeast Area Forestry Contest

The Buckingham Senior FFA Chapter competed at the Southeast Area Forestry Contest on Nov. 13 in Appomattox. The contest included several events that are based around knowledge of the forestry industry. The events included; tree identification, tool identification, tree value, tree volume, compass and pacing, and map interpretation. The Junior Team placed third overall. Team members were Camden Allen, 13th individually; Jordan Dorrier, ninth individually; Daniel Farrish, seventh individually; and Emma Staton, second individually. The Senior Team placed fourth overall in the contest with members Shaylynn Elick, eighth individually; Haley Peins, 18th individually; Tyler Padgett, 10th individually; and Trenton Snoddy, placed 14th individually. The teams would like to extend their gratitude to Henry Paris for coaching the teams.
