The Longwood University baseball team hosted its Spooky Slugfest on Tuesday, Oct. 29, showcasing a diverse collection of costumed characters that played in the squad’s annual intrasquad scrimmage and postgame trick-or-treat. The fourth annual Halloween event was free and open to the Farmville community, drawing a crowd to Buddy Bolding Stadium. Children were invited to wear their Halloween costumes and stick around to trick-or-treat around the bases for free candy and pictures with the Lancers afterwards. This year’s showdown between the Ghouls and Goblins featured an eclectic mix of costumes.
