Senior Law Day

The Prince EdwardCounty Bar Association and Virginia Legal Aid Society, Inc. will hold Senior Law Day, a program designed to provide community seniors, caregivers and family members of seniors with information on relevant legal topics.
This event will be held on Friday, Oct. 25 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at The Woodland Community Center, 2003 Cobb St., Farmville. This program is free and open to the public. Attendees will receive a free copy of the Senior Citizens Handbook published by the Virginia State Bar, a widely sought after publication with lots of useful information.
This program will include presentations by attorneys and professionals in elder care on topics such as Advance Directives, Powers of Attorney & Wills, Financial Exploitation, Guardianships & Conservatorships, Landlord & Tenant Law, Elder Abuse, Veterans Benefits, SNAP (Food Stamp) Benefits, Services for Area Seniors.
Parking is available and the site is handicapped accessible. A free lunch will be provided to all participants by The Woodland. Call (434) 392-8108 if you plan to attend and the number in your party to ensure enough food is available.
