The recently instituted Prince Edward County-wide burn ban is terminated effective immediately, a county press release stated the morning of Monday, Oct. 21.
“The decision was based on the rainfall received across the county this weekend and was made by County Administrator/Director of Local Emergency Management Wade Bartlett in consultation with the Virginia Department of Forestry,” officials said in the release.
The release concluded by noting that the Emergency Ordinance Banning Open-Air Fires and Outdoor Burning has been rescinded.
