Fuqua Middle School implemented a new program for students in grades seven and eight. These students are able to select electives to begin building upon their interest in specific areas. Seventh- and eighth-grade students may elect to take Junior Band or the elective wheel. This “wheel” has four spokes that alternate each quarter. These spokes consist of art/digital art with Forrest Layne, music/drama/song writing with Mandy Foster, coding with Laney Kortas and 3D printing with Kathy Jefferson. Students enjoy narrowing in on one area five days a week. Once the quarter ends, students will rotate to another spoke in the wheel.
