Ruth Adams Garden Club anniversary

Ruth Adams Garden Club members celebrated its 40th anniversary with a tea for past and present members at the “Inn on the Avenues,” catered by Vickie Oaks. The hostess was Betty McBride and co-hostess Ann Norton.
In 1979 Ruth Adams was honored by having a Garden Club named for her in Farmville. She helped organize the club and served as president. She also served as president of many other clubs throughout the USA. Ruth was a national accredited Master Judge. She was affiliated with World Association of Flower Arrangers.
A tribute was presented to Alice Johnson and Dolly Worthy, as Charter members. Special guest was Ruth Adams’s daughter, Enid Adams. All members and guest had an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Exhibit for the day was “Celebration” a petite design. Blue ribbons: Nan Colvin, Lois Gager, Judy Jamison and Betty Summer. Red: Brenda Hawkins, Pat Smith and Betty Meadows.
