Annual awards assembly at CVCS

Central Virginia Christian School (CVCS) held its annual awards assembly on May 14. Students were recognized for achievement in academics and physical fitness, as well as perfect attendance. The honor roll (all A’s) is for students who achieved all A’s all year. The Champion Fitness Award is for achieving exceptional fitness (85 percentile nationwide) in grades first-eighth.

Junior 4-H Camp at Holiday Lake 4-H Center will be held from June 24-28 for ages nine to 13- plus. Youth from Buckingham, Charlotte and Prince Edward counties will spend a week of fun-filled activities at 4-H Camp. Classes will be offered in swimming, archery, rock wall, canoeing, leathercraft and more. Campers will enjoy recreation every afternoon and exciting evening programs including two campfires. Summer Arts Camp will be held June 10-4 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Buckingham County Arts Center. The program is designed for ages 7-14. Enjoy dance, pottery, sculpture, polymer clay, enameling, watercolors and more. Team leader positions still available. The Buckingham Library is showing “Mrs. Doubtfire” on Friday, May 31, at noon. Bring your own lunch or snack to enjoy in the library’s meeting room.

Instructor Erin Lake will hold a coed tennis clinic at Buckingham High School from June 17-21 from 4-5 p.m. The program is designed for ages 8-18. Deadline to register is June 14. The program is sponsored by the Buckingham County Parks and Recreation.

Sprouse’s Corner Ranch, LLC, is a family-owned and operated horse and cattle operation in the Heart of Virginia.
