Tigers lose to No. 20 Hornets in regular season finale

Sophomore midfielder Charlie Doetzer scored two goals with one assist, but Hampden-Sydney College (H-SC) dropped a 20-10 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s lacrosse road decision against No. 20 University of Lynchburg on Saturday night.
Freshman midfielder Sean Duffy added two goals, while senior captain attackman John Burke, junior attackman Jack Hayden and sophomore midfielder Davis Hatch each added one goal and one assist for the visiting Tigers (12-5, 7-3) against the host Hornets (12-5, 9-1).
Tigers sophomore midfielder Jake Brummett was 14-for-27 on faceoffs and collected 10 ground balls.
H-SC secured the No. 3 seed for the ODAC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament and was set to host No. 6 Bridgewater College in a quarterfinal match Tuesday afternoon on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium. The Tigers fell on the road to the Eagles 14-13 on April 17.
