Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park will host commemoration programs of the 154th anniversary of the Battles of Sailor’s Creek April 6, complete with living historians and guided walks through the battlefield. These events are part of Experience the End: The Appomattox Campaign — a two-week series of programs recounting the final days of the Civil War in Virginia.

Sailor’s Creek is offering public lectures on an overview of The Appomattox Campaign and of The Cavalry Battle at High Bridge. Military, civilian and medical exhibits will be on display at the Hillsman House, and park staff and volunteers dressed in period correct clothing. Programs are scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. For a full list of events visit https://www.appomattoxcampaign.org/.
