Members of the Buckingham Dillwyn Garden Club and the Ruth Adams Garden Club of Farmville co-hosted the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs South Central District meeting on Tuesday, March 12, at the Moton Museum.
Breakfast breads and lovely floral arrangements were made for the tables by members. After the business meeting a program was presented by Jonathan Fitzgerald of Special Touches Designs in Dillwyn. He made a group of corsages for both proms and weddings which were very creative.
Lunch followed and from noon-2 p.m. the club also hosted a National Garden Club Standard Flower Show, “A Spring Wedding” that was free and open to the public. Many of the club members won ribbons for their floral arrangements.
The members were also able to enjoy the modeling of spring attire and beautiful jewelry being sold at the affair. Members Winnie Brown, Sharon Byrum, Kay Carter and Barbara Wheeler were very gracious jewelry models.
